I was born in Georgia, but at an early age my parents and I moved to Central Florida. I attended public school in Central Florida and attended local colleges as well. My wife and I have been married for 45 years. Education became important to me as a child through the influence of my parents. After I married, my wife and I continued that influence of education as we both became teachers. We have 3 adult children and two of them are teachers as well.
“Leader in Progressive Education”
Tom.Pylant@CIJSReggioScholars.org
During the 34 years of my educational career, I taught Math at several different Middle and High schools. In addition, I became an Academic Dean, Assistant Principal, and later a Middle School Principal. It was through all these many experiences that I learned how important it was for me to invest in the lives of our children and young adults. My experiences as a classroom teacher greatly influenced my experiences later as a school leader.I value my experiences with students and parents and look forward to watching our students excel in this new school environment.
