I am delighted to be able to play a role in Creative Inspiration Journey School of St. Cloud (CIJS-SC)! As a retired Professor Emeritus of Psychology at Mount St. Joseph University, I live part of the year on a beautiful little lake in Michigan, and the rest in warm and sunny Florida–happily, I have the best of both worlds. I have three children, two of them are Patty Marquis and Sherri Marquis Schneider who owned and operated Creative Inspiration Journey School in Winter Springs and currently own IPS (management company for CIJS-SC), so we are truly a family loved enterprise.

I have a PhD in Psychology, specializing in child and adult development with over 35 years’ experience. I completed a post-doctoral pediatric fellowship at the Kennedy/Krieger Institute for Handicapped Children of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and worked as a research assistant at the National Institute of Mental Health.   I taught classes for 26 years in child and adult cognitive and emotional development to education and nursing majors at Grand Valley State University and Mount St. Joseph University, where I achieved the rank of full-professor. In addition, I volunteered at Creative Inspiration Journey School in Winter Springs, helping with professional development training and child academic and behavioral intervention

I am excited to bring my knowledge and experience in children’s development of learning and emotions to CIJS-SC. The key to life-long learning is in an effective collaboration among children, teachers, and parents. We are partners in education, and I look forward to learning together with you and your child.
